UK Qualifications

Students come from all over the world to study for the UK’s widely known and respected GCSE, A levels, Highers and other equivalent qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB).

The first public examinations are the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education). UK students sit for these exams at the age of 16, after a two-year course.

The International GCSE are an equivalent version of the UK GCSE, which has been tailored to meet the needs of students around the world.

Most schools admit overseas children into the Sixth Form to study for their A (Advanced) levels or IB (International Baccalaureate). UK students sit for these exams at the age of 18, again, after a two-year course.

Below is a table that provides a clear breakdown of the qualifications available in the UK education system.
