Exclusive and Highly Academic

Summer Course for students from 13 to 18 years of age.

If you are a serious student and wish to study academic subjects in English during the summer, this programme is suitable for you, whether you are preparing for a school or college in the UK to study GCSEs, A Levels, the IB Diploma or even university.

GCSE: 13 – 14

GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is a two year programme and students in the UK start GCSEs at age 14 in year 10 and then they take the public examinations at age 16 in year 11. This is the end of compulsory school in the UK.

A-Level & IB: 15 – 18

If you are age 15 – 18 you will follow the IB / A Level programme. This is good if you want to prepare for the IB Diploma or A Levels or you are in year 13 and you want to revise a particular subject for your final examinations. If you are an international student you should have at least a B2 level of English on the Common European Framework.

LOCATION: London or the South West of England (40 minutes from Bristol).

The Academic Programme is designed to help you widen your subject knowledge and develop your language skills and to be better able in future to follow a course of academic study delivered in English. CLIL looks at language competence from two broad perspectives: Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency, which you will develop in the academic programme; Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills, which you will develop in the social programme and residential experience.

A structured and balanced leisure programme includes sports, evening activities and weekend trips to complement the academic programme and to encourage social interaction in English.
