AGES: 12 – 17 years old

THE ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Morning lessons: All students have 15 hours of English tuition per week, with qualified teachers.

All students attend three hours of English classes during the morning on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Students are tested on arrival and placed into classes suitable to their level, age, gender and nationality.

Afternoon Optional:

Extra English & Exam Classes

Further improve your English by studying 8 hours more per week in the afternoons. You can choose between exam and subject based classes.

Preparation for Boarding School (15-17). Get a taste of the British education system. Ideal for students hoping to start full-time education in the UK. Academic subject based English. Multi-curricular approach.

Cambridge Exams. PET/FCE/CAE – Tuition guidance and practice – 3 week course – Exams taken at the school.

Trinity Examinations week. This is an opportunity to gain a qualification, which is recognised and accepted by many universities all over the world. The exam is available at the end of week 3 and week 6, and is prepared in class time.

IELTS. Internationally recognised examinations. Four papers: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Academic module. Tuition and exam preparation guidance. Exams not taken in summer.

THE LEISURE PROGRAMME

Afternoons Optional: Sports & Recreation or Academies includes: riding, tennis, swimming, tethratlon, squash, basketball, fencing, golf, classical music, dance, cooking, musical theatre, journalism, fashion, etiquette, and much more.

A careful balance of active, historical, fun and educational excursions is provided.

Typical activities can include: Team Games, Aerobics, Swimming, Archery, Art, Athletics, Crafts, Football, Tennis, Model Making, Drama, Dance, Judo, and much, more!

Evening activities: International Nights – Talent Shows – Discos – Karaoke Evenings – Fun Games – Quiz Competitions – House Song – English Fête – Swimming Gala – Mini Athletics and much more.

One full day excursion every week;

One half day excursion every week;

ACCOMMODATION

All on campus accommodation – Modern boarding houses – Separate boys and girls houses – Staff accommodated in the same houses.

All houses are situated on the school campuses. Older students may enjoy the privacy of their own single room, some with en suite, while younger students share 2 or 4 – bedded rooms and bathroom facilities.

Each house has a Residential Co-ordinator who is responsible for the running of the house and the health and welfare of the students living there.

Health & Welfare

Students are supervised twenty four hours a day and student health or welfare problems are quickly spotted and dealt with promptly. It is important that students communicate any problems to a member of staff as soon as possible in order to ensure the best care.

TRANSFERS

Ideal times for arrival or departure at UK airports are between 1200 and 1800 hours on allocated Sundays. Some students may have to await the arrival of other students before leaving the airport for the school.

Students arriving at Gatwick will be collected for onward travel via Heathrow. Students who have requested a private transfer will be met at the airport by a representative.

Staff will accompany students back to the airport and supervise the check-in procedure, before escorting the students to the departure gate.
