Intensive Boarding Preparation (Summer 13-17)

Intensive English leading to the International ESOL Examination accompanied by introductory lessons in a range of academic subjects.

 

THE ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Academic English and a wide range of other subjects. Preparation for a British Boarding School. City & Guilds International ESOL examination.

25 hours of tuition a week

Specialist teachers

Maximum 10 students per class

Students are placed in classes according to their age and ability

Levels range from beginners (A1 Common European Framework) to advanced (C1).

 

THE LEISURE PROGRAMME

Each day there is a wide range of organised and supervised sports on offer for everyone, for example

Evening Activities:  Cinema – Skittles / Bowling – Craft evenings – Talent and singing competitions – Shopping trips – Fencing – Beach games and surfing – Circus Skills.

Students will go on an excursion on a Saturday and sometimes as part of their lessons.

Weekend Excursions. Here are examples of some of the excursions on offer:

Bristol – important commercial centre of the South West

Longleat – a safari at an English stately home

 

ACCOMMODATION

Students live in comfortable boarding houses on campus and are cared for by friendly and dedicated staff.

Bedrooms are usually allocated on an age basis with the older students having their own single study bedroom and the younger students sharing in mixed nationality bedrooms. The bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped.

 

TRANSFERS

Transfers are included in the fees as long as students arrive and depart on the published dates. Summer School members of staff meet students from the arrival hall. They wear a school polo shirt and they have a sign with the school’s name on it.

We can meet flights arriving between 06.00 and 18.00 on arrival dates, and 08.00 and 20.00 on departure dates.
